Ansela / Who it’s for / Gardeners and landscapers
For gardeners, landscapers and tree surgeons
Ear defenders on, the hedge half cut. She’s got the phone.
Ansela answers in your business’s name, takes the postcode and what the garden needs, and books the look-round into your diary while you finish the hedge.
£1.99 your first month, including VAT, then from £99 a month + VAT. 60 minutes in month one. No contract.
Set up in about 15 minutes.
Ansela is a Bookeasy.ai product. You sign up at ansela.bookeasy.ai, and you’ll see BOOKEASY.AI on your card statement.
Is there an AI receptionist for gardeners and landscapers?
Yes. Ansela answers in your firm’s name while the strimmer is running. She takes the postcode and what the garden needs, whether it’s a hedge, a lawn, a tree or a patio, and books the look-round into your Ansela diary. Plans start at £99 a month + VAT.

The call that came in over the hedge trimmer
This is the kind of call a gardening firm gets in spring. The caller gets her own postcode wrong, wants the green waste sorted, and still ends up in Friday’s diary.
Example call; Hawthorn Gardens and the caller are made up.
This call may be recorded. Thank you for calling Hawthorn Gardens. Please hold for a moment while I connect you.Recorded, and played before she picks up.
Hawthorn Gardens, Ansela speaking. How can I help?
Oh, hiya. It’s the back garden really. The leylandii have got away from us, we’ve no light in the kitchen, and the lawn’s more moss than grass. My husband says rip the lot out, but I don’t know.
That sounds like one for Tom to see. Are the leylandii along the boundary with next door?
Yeah, all down the back fence, twelve of them maybe. Oh, and do you take the green waste or do I need a skip?
Tom takes the green waste away from his own jobs. Can I take your postcode?
GL50 2QR. Sorry, no, 2QL. It’s 2QL, I always do that.
GL50 2QL, thanks. Tom can come and look on Thursday at eleven or Friday at half three. Which suits?
Friday. My husband will want to be there, he’s the one with opinions.
Friday at half three, then. What name is it, and is this mobile the right number for Tom?
Priya Shah. Yeah, this one.
Thanks Priya. Tom will see you Friday at half three for the hedges and the lawn, and he’ll be in touch if anything changes.

What she does for a gardening firm, and what she won’t
She works from what you tell her: the work you take on, your area, your green waste rules and the days you keep for regulars.
- Look-rounds and quote visits, booked into your diary with the postcode and what the garden needs.
- “Do you take the green waste?” and “Do you do tree work?” answered from your own list.
- A regular fortnightly cut, put down as a request for you to fit into the round.
- The regular who can’t be in on Thursday, taken and written up before you load the van.
- Won’t price a job from a description. She books a look-round or takes the details.
- Won’t advise on trees, pests or plants. Is the oak protected, what’s killing the lawn: those wait for you.
- Won’t guess. If she doesn’t know, she takes a message and says so.
03
What happens when a gardener misses a call?
You don’t hear the phone with ear defenders on and a hedge trimmer going, and the caller has often gone through three other numbers before you look. The ones who ring in spring have a garden that has got ahead of them and want a date. They book whoever picks up.
Gardening is also steady work. A new fortnightly customer can stay for years, so one missed call can be a lot of cuts.
04
What does she ask when someone rings a gardener or tree surgeon?
The postcode first, then what the job is: a one-off tidy, a regular cut, hedges, a lawn, paving or a tree. For tree work she asks where the tree is and whether it is near a house, a road or a wire. She doesn’t judge the tree or the risk. She writes down what the caller says.
She can also answer the questions you get all day, like whether you take the green waste away, whether you do tree work, or what days you cover, from the list you give her.
05
Does she cope with the spring rush?
Spring is the honest answer here. Calls bunch up in the first warm weeks, and your minutes go faster when more people ring. Each plan has a number of minutes a month, so look at 600 minutes on Starter against how many calls you get in April and May, and set a limit you are happy with. Team and Scale plans take more calls at once.
You can also change what she offers when you are full. She says you are booked up until a given date and takes the details, rather than offering slots you can’t keep.
06
What about a tree down or a hedge across the road?
These are rules you set. You decide whether a caller with a fallen tree is put through to your mobile or has their details taken and a look-round booked. She doesn’t judge what is dangerous and doesn’t advise on trees, protected status or planting. Those wait for you.
She won’t price a job from a description. She books a look-round, or takes the details and a time to ring back.
Plans start at £99 a month + VAT: see what each plan includes. Paying a per-call service now? See how Ansela compares.
07
Where the phone usually is while the hedge gets cut
We built Ansela because we kept ringing tradespeople who couldn’t pick up, and then booking someone else. She isn’t a call centre. She answers in your name, says what you’ve told her to say, and writes down what the caller wanted.
If she gets a call wrong, forward us the recording.

08
How do you set up Ansela?
You choose a plan before your number goes live.
For gardeners, landscapers and tree surgeons: keep your current number and divert it to Ansela, or take a new UK business number for your website and cards, or use both.
- Give her your website. She reads it and comes back with the work you do, your area and your hours for you to check.
- Tell her how you work the season. Which days are for regulars, which are for new work. Then try the leylandii call above with her in your browser.
- Divert your mobile. We give you a UK number. One short code diverts your mobile to it when you don’t pick up. Another turns it off.

Questions gardeners, landscapers and tree surgeons ask
Spring is mad. Can I change what she offers when I’m full?
Yes. Change your hours and the work you’re taking on in the app, and she offers callers what’s left or takes their details for when you’re free.
Someone wants a tree down today.
You decide. Tell her to put those through to your mobile, or to take the details and book the next look-round.
Can she tell callers about my green waste charge?
If you’ve given it to her, yes. If you haven’t, she says the price will be given when you come to look.
Can she take a regular fortnightly cut?
She takes it as a request with the address and the day they prefer, for you to fit into the round. It goes in your emailed summary.
Do I have to change my number?
No. We give you a UK number and you divert your own to it with a short code (codes by network). Turn the divert off whenever you like.
What is a minute, and can she take two calls at once?
A minute is time she spends on the phone with callers. Starter includes 600 a month, extra minutes are 20p each up to a limit you set, and Starter takes 1 call at a time. A caller who rings while she’s busy can leave a voicemail, which doesn’t use your minutes.
Is there a contract, and what happens after the £1.99 month?
No minimum term. After the first month it carries on at your plan price plus VAT unless you cancel, which you can do from your billing page at any time.
Keep the trimmer going, she’ll get the phone.
