Ansela / Who it’s for / Electricians
For electricians
The board’s off and there’s a kitchen full of cable. She’ll take the call.
Ansela answers in your business’s name, takes the postcode and what needs doing, books the visit into your diary, and puts the calls you’ve said can’t wait through to your mobile.
£1.99 your first month, including VAT, then from £99 a month + VAT. 60 minutes in month one. No contract.
Set up in about 15 minutes.
Ansela is a Bookeasy.ai product. You sign up at ansela.bookeasy.ai, and you’ll see BOOKEASY.AI on your card statement.
Can an AI receptionist answer the phone for an electrician?
Yes. Ansela answers in your firm’s name while you’re up a ladder or in a loft, takes the postcode and what needs doing, books the quote visit into your Ansela diary, and puts through the calls you’ve said can’t wait. Plans start at £99 a month + VAT.

The call she took while the board was off
A kitchen job that turns into two jobs halfway through the sentence, and a postcode said the wrong way round. It still lands in Thursday’s diary.
Example call; Kerrow Electrical and the caller are made up.
This call may be recorded. Thank you for calling Kerrow Electrical. Please hold for a moment while I connect you.Recorded, and played before she picks up.
Hi, this is Ansela. How can I help?
Oh hiya. Right, we’re having the kitchen done, and the fitter says we need more sockets. And the lights keep tripping as well. Is that two jobs?
I can book one visit and note both. Can I take your name?
Priya Shah.
And what’s the postcode there?
LS6 2PQ. No, sorry, 2QP, I always do that. Number nine.
Let me just bring that address up. So that’s 9 Kirkwood Avenue, LS6 2QP?
That’s it. The fitter’s in till Friday, if that helps.
Let me find the first one free. The first I’ve got is Thursday at eight. Would that work, or is another day better?
Thursday at eight’s great, my husband’s off, he can let him in.
That’s booked for Thursday at eight, with the sockets and the tripping both noted. Anything else you need while I’ve got you?
No, that’s everything, thanks.
Thanks for calling, bye for now.

What she does for an electrician, and what she won’t
Everything comes from what you’ve told her: the work you take on, the area you cover, your call-out charge, and your rules for the calls that come straight to you.
- Quote visits and call-outs, booked into your diary around the jobs already in it.
- “Do you do consumer unit changes?” and “Can you do an EICR before we let the flat?” answered from your own list.
- Moving a visit, or a customer asking what time you’re coming tomorrow.
- The call that comes in while you’re testing a circuit, taken and written up with the caller’s details.
- Won’t give safety advice or diagnose a fault over the phone. She books a visit or takes the details.
- Won’t decide what’s dangerous on her own. Your rule: a shock, sparks or a burning smell gets told to ring 999, a power cut gets 105, and the call comes through to you.
- Won’t quote a price you haven’t given her. Anything else, you ring back with it.

What happens when an electrician misses a call?
Most calls to an electrician come from someone who has just found the problem: sockets that have stopped, a fuse board that keeps tripping, a landlord who needs a certificate before the tenant moves in. They ring the first firm on the list. If yours rings out because you’re testing a circuit, the next one gets the visit.
You can’t answer with the board cover off and a meter in your hand, and you shouldn’t. That is the gap she fills.
04
What does she ask when someone rings about electrical work?
What you’ve told her to, in your order. Usually the postcode first, so she can say whether you cover it, then the job: a consumer unit change, extra sockets, a fault, an EICR before a let. She can ask whether it’s a house or a flat, and whether the caller is the owner or the tenant.
Then she offers the visit slots you’ve set, takes a name and a number, and you get a written summary with the recording. She doesn’t work out what’s wrong from a description and she doesn’t quote a price you haven’t given her.
05
What about a shock, sparks or a power cut?
These are rules you set, and she uses your words. The usual ones: a shock, a fire or a burning smell gets told to ring 999, a power cut gets told to ring 105, and the call is put through to your mobile. She gives no safety advice beyond the rule you wrote.
Which scheme you belong to is your business. Notifiable work in homes in England falls under Part P of the Building Regulations, and many electricians belong to a scheme such as NICEIC or NAPIT. If you want callers told which, tell her the line to use.
06
Does it work with a quote-visit and call-out diary?
Yes. She books into your Ansela diary, which you see and change from your phone, using the days and windows you choose. She doesn’t connect to another diary, so check both before you take a job yourself. Plumbers set theirs up much the same way.
Plans start at £99 a month + VAT: see what each plan includes. Paying a per-call service now? See how Ansela compares.

Where the phone usually is while the board’s off
We built Ansela because we kept ringing tradespeople who couldn’t pick up, and then booking someone else. She isn’t a call centre. She answers in your name, says what you’ve told her to say, and writes down what the caller wanted.
If she gets a call wrong, forward us the recording.

How do you set up Ansela?
You choose a plan before your number goes live.
For electricians: keep your current number and divert it to Ansela, or take a new UK business number for your website and cards, or use both.
- Give her your website. She reads it and comes back with the work you do, the area you cover and your hours for you to check.
- Set your rules and try her. Tell her what comes straight to you, then have the kitchen call above with her in your browser before she takes a real one.
- Divert your mobile. We give you a UK number. One short code diverts your mobile to it when you don’t pick up. Another turns it off.

Questions electricians ask
Can she tell callers my prices?
Only the ones you’ve given her, like a call-out charge or a set price for an EICR. For anything else she books a visit or takes the details for you to quote.
What about power cuts and someone getting a shock?
You set the rule and the words. A common rule is to have her give 105 for a power cut and 999 for danger, then put the caller straight through to your mobile.
Does she say I’m NICEIC or NAPIT registered?
Only if you tell her to. She isn’t registered with anything herself, so put your own wording in what you give her and she says it as you wrote it.
Can she book an EICR for a landlord?
Yes, if you do them. She takes the property address, whether it’s occupied and who to contact, then books the visit into your Ansela diary.
I’m a one-man band. Is it worth it?
The first month is £1.99. Read the transcripts and decide then.
Do I have to change my number?
No. We give you a UK number and you divert your own to it with a short code (codes by network). Turn the divert off whenever you like.
What is a minute, and can she take two calls at once?
A minute is time she spends on the phone with callers. Starter includes 600 a month, extra minutes are 20p each up to a limit you set, and Starter takes 1 call at a time. A caller who rings while she’s busy can leave a voicemail, which doesn’t use your minutes.
Is there a contract, and what happens after the £1.99 month?
No minimum term. After the first month it carries on at your plan price plus VAT unless you cancel, which you can do from your billing page at any time.
Next time it rings with your hands in a back box, let her get it.
